St. Patrick's Day

I'm sure you've all heard about the mischief that took place in our Kindergarten room today!  The children were very excited to find a bag containing a special ingredient to make a special snack!  The children scooped 3 spoons of the sweet powder with a half of a glass of milk and stirred.  Much to their surprise, it turned green and made a very yummy pudding!!

Fun With Ms. Pam

Ms. Pam came last week and we learned about four groups of animals; mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles!  Ms. Pam always makes her hands on lessons fun for the children!  Ask your child the difference between the different groups and you will be surprised at how much they can tell you!

Read Across America Week

I have more photos of Read Across America Week!  We always have fun learning but special weeks like this are extra special for the children!  The children really enjoyed bringing in items that rhymed for sharing!!  We had some very interesting items!  We also enjoyed Family Literacy Night!  The children were very excited to meet "a real, live author!"  One of the things that she told them children was "all you have to do is open a book and use your imagination and you can write a story!"  We discussed this in the classroom and I refer to it at Journal time too!  Thank you so much for making the extra effort to come to the family event!!

I LOVE Teaching Kindergarten!

The children's enthusiasm for learning is what makes me get up each morning and look forward to going to "work!"  This week was no exception!  I wanted to share some of our  co-worker "fun" with you!!  The children enjoyed hearing
1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish read by Thing 1 (Ms. Olivia!)  More pictures of our little Cat In The Hat children to follow!

Dr. Seuss Fun

The children (AND Mrs. Billups) are having LOTS of fun this week celebrating Read Across America Week!  Monday we read, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut and the children had fun making and wearing glasses while reading!  We also enjoyed The Foot Book and used our feet to make a class book with color words and measured things around the room in Math!

Marble Jar

We filled our marble jar!!  The children get a marble each time they are making good choices and someone notices!  We voted on our class reward and the winner was...PIZZA for snack!
