We Will Miss Mr. Cayton!

Last week we brainstormed a list of things we want to remember about Mr. Cayton!  The children each wrote a letter to Mr. Cayton and we had invited him to our room to eat ice-cream and give him our letters!  The children ask if they could give him high fives and hugs and Mr. Cayton eagerly agreed to both!  Some of the things the children thought of; lots of high fives and hugs, finding our Gingerbread Boy, serving us "lunch" on our first half day of kindergarten, eating ice-cream with us, showing us how he ties shoes, giving us Super kids and he thinks we are super kids, helps us make good choices if we have to go to his office (their words, not mine) and he helps us get healthy with Live Healthy Iowa!   As you can tell Mr. Cayton was an active principal that believes in interacting with the students and his presence made a difference!  THANK YOU Mr. Cayton for caring!

Children's Museum

What a fun filled week!  THANKS to parents that were able to go along to help!  The children enjoyed interacting with each other as they experienced many community helpers!  Some of the favorites were the newly remodeled grocery store, pizzeria and hospital!

Farm Fun

A big THANK YOU to Rob and Char Brenneman (Brenneman Pork) for hosting us on their hog farm!  The children came up with questions and listened as Erin (TJ's mom) told us about pigs.  We enjoyed a hayrack ride around the farm and made stops to look at the baby pigs and we even rode across the scales to see how much the truck weighed!  After a lunch in the yard, we had hands on experience climbing in the farm machinery and the highlight of the trip.....petting the baby pigs! Enjoy the pictures!!  AND thanks to the parents who were able to go along!!  We couldn't do it without you!

THANK YOU Rob and Char!
