Election Day

Today we experienced election day in our kindergarten world!  We started our day with two important conversations....1. voting is private and mom and dad might not want you to tell everyone you see who they are voting for!  (Don't worry, I don't believe everything they tell me!)  2. The man on the telephone is not necessarily President Obama or Mitt Romney themselves and yes I understand why it REALLY annoys your mom and dad!  (I LOVE kindergarten children and the things they say!)

This afternoon we spent some time talking about what moms and dads do when they vote and then we had our own election!  First we set up our voting booths and after we each received our ballot we voted on one snack.  We placed our ballot in the special machine that counts the votes and keeps the ballots safe until they get counted.  After everyone voted we tallied each ballot and the winner was.....GOGURT!  We completed our election by discussing the importance of being a good sport!
